Together with Absolut Vodka, we at Hillenberg have created our interpretation of the classic Cosmopolitan cocktail. The Cosmopolitan, or “cosmo” as it is often called, is a delicious cocktail made with Cointreau, vodka, cranberry juice, and lime juice. It belongs to the sour family and has a somewhat mysterious background. Some trace its roots back to the 1920s, but most agree that the recipe we know today was created by different bartenders in the USA in the 1980s. The drink’s popularity exploded in the 1990s thanks to Carrie Bradshaw in “Sex and the City.” And when Madonna sipped on a Cosmo at the Rainbow Room in 1996, it became even more iconic. The combination of TV glamour and celebrity appeal made the Cosmopolitan an indispensable star in the bar world.

Our cocktail is called Rhubarb / Cosmo and is created by our head bartender, Oliver Mångs. Rhubarb / Cosmo is a summery interpretation and contains 4 cl Absolut Original, 2 cl Rhubarb Verjus, 1 cl Acidic Apple, 2 cl Cranberry Cordial, and is topped with a few drops of Verbena oil. We mix everything in a shaker, shake, and strain it into an elegant glass with an ice ball.
